Take on the Giant of the Alps

Who has never dreamed of climbing the Col du Galibier with its snow-lined road?

This unmissable pass is waiting for you, with its postcard landscapes that will be revealed just a few days after its official opening for the summer period.

The Galibier Challenge is the first high mountain cyclosportive on the French calendar. This friendly event offers cyclists the opportunity to challenge themselves on one of two formulas, to meet everyone's expectations.

Also discover the Maurienne Gravel Experience, a mountain event where conviviality and good humor are the key words of this event. No Col du Galibier, but a discovery of the Maurienne and Valmeinier.

Ready to climb the giant of the Alps for the first time this season?

See you on June 1 and 2, 2024!

A landmark of cycling since 1911

No need to introduce the Galibier, this monument of the Alps culminating at 2642 meters above sea level on the border of Savoie and the Hautes-Alpes. The Col du Galibier has been crossed 63 times by the Tour de France since 1911, the year of the first ascent. Henri Desgrange will write in L'Auto on the evening of the first ascent of the pass during the Tour de France these few words: " Oh! Sappey! Oh ! Laffrey! Oh ! Col Bayard! Oh ! Tourmalet! I will not fail in my duty by proclaiming that next to the Galibier you are pale and vulgar booze: in front of this giant, there is nothing left but to pull off his cap and to salute very low!...  ;»
